St. Jude's Cares for Kids Boot Campaign

Debbi Frank, Jiffy Mart General Manager, presented a check on 02-13-09 at the WPOC studios to Laurie DeYoung for $1,938.00, which is what the four Jiffy Mart locations have raised to date. This amount includes a $500.00 donation from Jiffy Mart’s Corporate office. Debbi was interviewed live on air in the 8:00 A.M. hour by radio Disc Jockey, Laurie DeYoung. The Radiothon lasts for two days. All the monies raised at “Country Cares for Kids”, The WPOC 93.1 Radiothon, goes directly to the hospital providing care for patients or research for cures and successful treatment protocols that are used right here in Maryland hospitals. These protocols have resulted in greatly increased overall childhood cancer survival rates from 20% to over 80% today. This is just one of the many things that Jiffy Mart does to give back to the community, and they are proud to contribute to this great cause for the 2nd year in a row.
